Killer new dish on the Petite Maison menu. huitres frites - crispy fried oysters w/leek & corn fondue
Lovely mother’s day meal on the patio at Petite Maison.
Thought this was cool! Don’t remember where I stumbled on it. Because of the propensity of hot dogs to cause choking due to their shape, there is a call for a redesign of the hot dog. Just thought it was cool.
Another interesting post on miso soup.
Man I love this place… It’s only breakfast but I love it.
I cannot bring myself to deviate from my standard - The Hog & Chick. Awesome bacon perfectly cooked, perfectly cooked over easy eggs, wonderful thick toast & fresh preserves, fresh squeezed OJ and the thing that cements my addiction - the hash browns.
The hash browns are the subject of another holy war on Chowhound (like gelato). Some love them. Some don’t. I do. The main piece of contention is that some think they’re too wet. This is one of the things I love. Crunchy on the outside and a bit wet on the inside. You’ll have to make your own determination.
The one thing I find with people that don’t get Matt’s is that their expectations are all out of whack. It’s just breakfast. Great breakfast but it’s just breakfast - don’t go in thinking crazy esoteric ingredients. It’s just breakfast. And then hopefully you’ll enjoy it as much as I do.
Finally made it to Royal Coffee at the Market. The store itself was closed but we took a quick peek. It definitely looks cool. Looks like a good spot to get lunch in addition to do a quick shop.
Royal itself was great. Had a wonderful latte. Tasted great, looked beautiful. Really liked the decor and ambiance in Royal Coffee as well.
